When to Use the Drop Method

The Four Core Steps

1. Drop

Stop what you’re doing. Sit, stand, lie down — doesn’t matter. Just drop into your body and say:
“I’m here now.”

2. Breathe

One breath at a time. No special technique, just notice it. Follow your breath like a rope back to yourself.

3. Notice

Without judgment, notice:

  • Where your mind is
  • Where your body feels tight or tense
  • What emotion is closest to the surface

4. Reset

Choose one gentle action to support yourself.
A glass of water. A stretch. A shift in posture. A song.
Say:
“This is my reset.”
